THE BEST SEASONS FOR MAGNIFICENT POKHARA TOUR:

The best seasons are spring, from March to May, and autumn/fall, which begins from September to November. Interested travelers can visit all year round, except for the summer/monsoon time of mid-June to August. 

During the springtime, most days are bright with longer sunny days, but it can get cloudy sometimes in the afternoons. The late afternoons, nights, and mornings are cooler; the right time to visit is when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom.

The next best season is autumn/fall, with bright sun, to enjoy the views of snow-capped peaks. Days are short with limited sunlight hours, cold mornings, afternoons, and nights. 

Enjoy the tour during winter also, most days are crystal clear for views, and a pleasant tour. Cold temperatures occur during the mornings, late afternoon, and nighttime. But an enjoyable winter season despite the cold months of December to February. Sunrise is late, from 5:30 -6 a.m., and gets dark by 5 p.m., but with a clear, bright, starry night sky.

Pokhara City is located in a verdant valley. It is the 2nd largest city in Nepal after Kathmandu, which is famous for its ancient monuments.
Pokhara is famous for its scenic, beautiful landscapes, scenery of serene lakes, and snow mountain ranges. It is certainly an amazing place of natural wonders, where a sub-tropical climate reaches cooler alpine hills. 

Pokhara is a popular tourist destination for families, schools, colleges, corporate executives, and adventurers. Pokhara is a vantage point, where most trekking and mountaineering start and end in this beautiful city. Pokhara is located in the Mid-West Nepal, about 220 km or 137 miles of driving distance from Kathmandu. Pokhara at approx. 860 m/2,821 feet high with sub-tropical temperatures. Pokhara can be reached by an overland journey of 5-6 hours or a scenic flight of 30 minutes from Kathmandu.

Mountain Views:
While in Pokhara, it is hard to miss the stunning Annapurna range, which forms its backdrop. Annapurna massif includes A I (world’s 10th highest at 8,091m / 26,545ft) Annapurna South (7,219m-23,693ft), Gangapurna (7,455m-24,457ft) and Annapurna III (7,555m-24,787ft) ever present Mt. Machhapuchare ‘Fish-Tail’ (6,997 m) and beyond east world’s 8th highest Mt. Manaslu (8,163m).

For the best panoramic views of snow-clad mountains, one can take a short drive to Sarankot.

THE PHEWA LAKE:
The major attractions of Pokhara are the natural beauty, the Phewa and Begnas Lakes. Phewa Lake is the 2nd largest lake in Nepal, all the best hotels are located by the Phewa Lake side.

Early morning visitors can catch a reflection of the snow-capped peaks on the lake surface. An hour of boating will serenade you with amazing scenery and visit the Barahi Temple. Located on a small island at the center of Phewa Lake, take a hike on the shoreline of Raniban (forest). The other lake is the Begnas Lake, east of Phewa Lake.

THE BARAHI TEMPLE:
Located on a small island amidst Phewa Lake. The pagoda temple is dedicated to the boar manifestation of Ajima, the protector deity of Hindu mythology. Representing female Shakti (power), a large flow of Devotees can be seen on Saturday with fowl and goats to the deity.

THE SETI RIVER GORGE:  
Pokhara’s natural wonder is the Seti gorge, where the Seti River flows through the city. The boisterous river runs underground, an amazing sight to watch as it hides in some areas 2 meters wide. The gorge of 20 m depth, which is beyond imagination. There are two areas where one can observe the depth of the Seti River Gorge, just from the Mahindra Pul (bridge).
As well as a little further from KN Sing Pul (bridge) with a lovely small garden.

DEVI’S WATER FALL:
Another attraction of Pokhara is the cascading beautiful waterfalls, popularly known as Devi’s fall. The local name is Patale Chhago (Hell’s fall), located just
2 k.m south west of the city on the Siddhartha Highway.
It is a pleasant area for views of the tremendous waterfalls. During monsoon and mid-September, raging volumes of water make the waterfall interesting and impressive.

THE CAVES OF POKHARA:
Pokhara has two main caves, the Mahindra Gufa (cave), also known as the caves of Bats, is a 2-hour hike or 45-minute drive. The cave with large limestone, stalactites, and stalagmites includes bats hanging on the cave ceiling.

Another cave in Pokhara is Gupteswor Cave, just at a walking distance from Davis’ fall across the street. The entrance is wide with steps down to a shrine of Lord Shiva.
Visitors can continue heading further down to view the raging Seti River enter through an underground channel in the cave.

THE OLD BAZAAR:
It will be wonderful to observe local life by visiting the old areas of Pokhara with traditional bazaars and ethnically diverse traders. Its temples reflect the Newari architecture of Kathmandu valley, although Pokhara’s majority are of hill people, the Gurung and some Magar, Tamang, with Hindu Brahmins, Chettries, and Dalits. The local bazaar has important and interesting shrines called Bindhayabasini Mandir (temple), a white dome-shaped structure dominates a spacious stone paved courtyard on a shady hill top with excellent views of the bazaar and the Annapurna Mountains.

SHANTI/ PEACE BUDDHIST STUPA: 
The next viewpoint is a short hike with a drive, or take a boat across the Phewa Lake. Hike for an hour or more to the ridge top at Shanti or Peace Stupa, located south of Phewa Lake. Peace / Shanti Stupa, a Buddhist pagoda monument on a hilltop, is also known as Ananda Hill. It was built by Japanese monks, with local supporters under the guidance of Michidatsu Fuji, a Buddhist head monk, founder of Nipponzan-Myōhōji

The name Shanti for Peace. This beautiful spot offers a tremendous panorama of the Pokhara valley. Includes superb views of the Annapurna and Manaslu Mountain ranges.

SARANKOT HILLTOP:
The highest hilltop around Pokhara Valley is Sarankot at 1,600 m / 5,250 feet.
Sarankot offers spectacular views of sunrises and sunsets over an array of Himalayan peaks. Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri’s, Annapurna Himalayas with Manaslu and Lamjung Himal. Enjoy the fantastic panorama of Pokhara city and the valley with Phewa Lake. Sarankot is a popular spot for various exciting adventure sports, like Paragliding, zip line, and Cable Car ride.

INTERNATIONAL MOUNTAIN MUSEUM:
International Mountain Museum is the first in Nepal, established by the
Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA). Initiated the establishment of the International Mountain Museum (IMM) in Pokhara. The Mountain Museum’s basic objective for the establishment is to record, document, and chronicle.

The past and present development of mountaineering activities in the world.
To preserve the saga of the momentous feats in the history of mountaineering around the Himalayan peaks. 

An interesting place to gather knowledge of the mountains, expeditions, including flora/fauna, geography, history of Nepal mountaineering, and more, located just near the main local area of Pokhara.  

ITINERARY:

Day 01:  Arrival in Pokhara and transfer to a nice hotel.
To reach Pokhara, enjoy an exciting overland journey of 5-6 hours to Pokhara.
The smooth and short way is taking a scenic flight of half an hour to Pokhara.
On arrival, transfer to your hotel. Most hotels are located by the lovely, serene Phewa Lake, in the close shadow of the Annapurna Himalayas.

Day 02: In Pokhara, sunrise from Sarankot and a day tour.
Early morning before dawn, skipping breakfast, a short drive leads to winding uphill at Sarankot Hill. It is a scenic spot to enjoy the morning glory of a stunning sunrise over snow-capped mountains. Facing fabulous views of Mt. Dhaulagiri, Mt. Annapurna, and Mt. Manaslu range with majestic Mt. Machhapuchare, “Fish Tail”. 

Sarankot is a popular spot for paragliding. After a refreshing morning drive to the hotel for breakfast. The tour continues to visit the natural wonders of Pokhara, with Devi’s Waterfall, or Patale Chhago (Hell’s fall). Impressive cascading waterfall, amidst a pleasant park garden. From here, visit the large cave of Gupteswor. The tour then leads north around the local market area and visits the Brindabhasini Temple. It is a lovely area for viewing and observing the devotees with religious rituals. It offers excellent views of the Pokhara local bazaar with Annapurna peaks, and a visit to the Seti River gorge. Time permitting, visit the International Mountaineering Museum, which has information and history of the Himalayas. After a great day, return to the hotel for individual activities or boating in Phewa Lake. 

Day 03: In Pokhara for leisure activities and boating.
At leisure, interested people can visit Peace Stupa, take a boat to the other side of the lake. The Shanti or Peace Stupa is on the southern side of Lake Phewa,
hike uphill. A few short, steep sections in the shade of a forest, with an hour climb to reach a ridge top. Enjoy the refreshing cool air next to the beautiful Stupa.
The whole complex is a park and a garden with a marble stupa that houses a statue of Shakyamuni Buddha. From here, enjoy the views of Lake Phewa, Pokhara city, and the Himalayan peaks. Retrace the journey back to the hotel for lunch and afternoon free, at leisure for individual activities.

Day 04: Transfer to the airport for the flight back to Kathmandu.
After an enjoyable holiday and an exciting tour around Pokhara’s natural wonders, with time for a flight to Kathmandu. A short drive to Pokhara airport and board the aircraft for a sweeping flight to Kathmandu. 

Please Note:

Interested people can extend the holiday for more days to enjoy adventure sports activities. Likewise, Paragliding, Zip-Flyer, Ultra-Light Flight, Bungee Jumping, or to enjoy relaxation moments. The other options are short hiking and trekking for
a few days to a week. Can trek to famous Ghorepani and Poon Hill or Annapurna Base Camp.

You can type in the number of passengers to book a reservation and select a date that is convenient for you. Due to group size, we never cancel a trip once you’ve made a reservation.
