THE BEST SEASONS:
For Annapurna North Base Camp Trek to enjoy from spring to autumn and winter,
except the wet month of summer and the monsoon from mid-June to August.
The best seasons are spring and autumn, most when the days are clear and fine for views and walks.
Spring starts in March and ends in May, one of the high and peak seasons for
trekking around the Himalayas. When days are fine with sunshine, most of the days. It can get cloudy and overcast sometimes with chances of light rains and snowfall. This is the best season for flowers and botanists when wildflowers are in seasonal bloom. Especially the rhododendrons of all species and colors, the national flowers of Nepal.

dawn till dusk. The next best season is autumn/fall, most days are crystal clear for
views and treks with sunny days. Get dark soon due to limited sunshine hours

OVERVIEWS:
Annapurna-I North Base Camp trekking is an adventure on the hidden trails around the Midwest Himalayas. Located close to the giant peaks of
Mt. Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri’s and Annapurna Himalayan ranges.
Just above the world’s deepest gorge, the Kali Gandaki River, the trek leads to hidden pockets on the least ventured routes.
Annapurna-I is the world’s 10th highest peak at 8,091 m/26,545 feet, French Expeditions first summited it. The first 8,000 meters ever climbed in the history of mountaineering. The late legendary mountaineers Maurice Herzog and
L. Lachenal on June 3rd, 1950. Three years ahead of Mt. Everest was
conquered by Tenzing and Hillary on May 29th, 1953.
This makes the adventure to Annapurna-I North Base Camp Trek more exciting and interesting with the first successful history in mountaineering.
It is an exciting adventure that follows the legendary trail of early French Expeditions, around the remote isolated high country.
The new raw routes have recently been established due to the construction of a small hydroelectricity project.
The rest of the treks lead to absolute wilderness within a dense forest of tall rhododendrons, pines, and fir trees. Soon the lush green vegetation gives way to sheer mountainous terrains as you reach the base of Annapurna-I.

Outline Itinerary:
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to a hotel.
Day 02: In Kathmandu free day preparation for trek and tour options.
Day 03: Fly to Pokhara 860 m, and drive to Tatopani 1,090 m (90 km / 56 miles) via Baglung and Beni Towns. -04 hrs.
Day 04: Drive to Hum Khola 2,710 m -04 hrs. Overnight in a tented camp.
Day 05: Trek to Busket Mela 3,650 m-06 hrs. Overnight in a tented camp.
Day 06: Trek to Nanchang, near North Annapurna Base Camp 3,960 m-05 hrs.
Day 07: At Campsite hike to Annapurna North Base Camp 4,190 m
/13,747 feet. Walk back to Nanchang near Sun-Khola.
Day 08: Trek to Hum Khola -06 hrs. Overnight in a tented camp.
Day 09: Drive to Pokhara 860 m via Tatopani -06 hrs.
Day 10: Fly to Kathmandu for a 30 mins flight and transfer to the hotel.
Day 11: Transfer to international airport for homeward bound flight.
DAY BY DAY DETAILED ITINERARY:
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu and transfer to a hotel.
On arrival at Kathmandu and Nepal International Airport, received by our guides and staff for a short transfer to your hotels in the hub of Kathmandu city.
Check your lovely room, then after getting refreshed, join the other members of Adventure to Annapurna North Base Camp Trekking. Our guide or group leader briefs you about the treks, do’s and don’ts, local culture, as well camping, foods and lodges, en route trek. This full information will help you enjoy the adventure with us, followed by a welcome group dinner in a Nepalese restaurant with a folk-culture program as entertainment while you enjoy the dinner.
Day 02: In Kathmandu free day preparation for trek and tour options.
A free leisure day in Kathmandu with options for exciting sightseeing tours around places of great historical interest. Kathmandu and adjoining cities are steeped with UNESCO World Heritage Sites. If not visited earlier, do not miss the charm and essence of Nepal before heading towards the high Himalayas.
Rest of the day preparations for the treks and purchasing needful trekking items.
Day 03: Fly to Pokhara 860 m, and drive to Tatopani 1,090 m (90 km / 56 miles) via Baglung and Beni Towns. -04 hrs.
Morning transfer for an internal flight to beautiful Pokhara city, depart from the
hotel after a hearty breakfast. On reaching the domestic air terminal, after going
through security. Then get on board for a sweeping short flight to Pokhara, during
airborne, enjoy the panorama of Himalayan peaks. Includes views of Langtang, Ganesh, Manaslu and Annapurna Himalayas. After 30 or 35 minutes of landing at Pokhara airport, and collecting the baggage, our staff receives you for an exciting drive beyond Pokhara. The drive leads to the Pokhara and Beni/Baglung Highway with stunning views of the Annapurna range of peaks. The drive leads through farm villages and towns with ups and downs to reach Beni. A big town, and headquarters of Mygdi District, from here following the Kaligandaki River to Tatopani, a lovely village.
Enjoy the comfort of a nice lodge accommodation, and have time for a refreshing
bath and a dip in the hot spring pools. Tatopani is for hot water in Nepali, as the
name of the village.
Day 04: Drive to Hum Khola 2,710 m -04 hrs. Overnight in a tented camp.
From Tatopani, back on the road for an exciting drive. Leaving Tatopani for Hum Khola, the drive follows the rough country off-road on a dirt track.
Reaching towards a small Hydropower project, under construction, from here the drive leads across a bridge over Kali Gandaki River. The journey continues to Hum Khola for an overnight stop. A small temporary settlement with few simple tea shops and huts. At Hum Khola, first nights in a tented camp, the food is served by our expert camping cook and kitchen staff.
Day 05: Trek to Busket Mela 3,650 m-06 hrs. Overnight in a tented camp.
After overnight in a serene surrounding within Hum Khola River gorge amidst
towering rocky cliffs. From here the trail is covered with dense trees of rhododendrons, pines, and oaks. After breakfast first-day trek starts following a
narrow path, the altitude gains slowly. The trail follows with steep climb with
views of the beautiful waterfall called Fut Futey. Then reaching at a place known as Sandi-Kharka, an open area with temporary huts and shelters of the cattle herder. Possible lunch stops, served by our kitchen staff and cooks, lunch depends upon clean and fresh water available. Might have to carry a packed lunch sometimes. After lunch break, the walk heads towards a small isolated
spot. A place with a temporary shelter for the local cattle herder, this area is
called Ghupapahant. A place with an overhanging cave, with grand views
of Tilicho Peak. The climb continues reaching a beautiful spot at Busket Mela
for overnight camp. This isolated place at Busket Mela provides two shelters of simple stone huts. Often used by the local visitors and domestic trekkers, the camps are set on the best available ground. The campsite offers grand views of the surrounding dramatic scenery.
Day 06: Trek to Nanchang en route North Annapurna Base Camp 3,960 m-05 hrs.
Today’s walk leads to close towards Annapurna North Base Camp, also called as the French Camp. The first French Expedition explored this area in the early
1950 for the climb of Annapurna-I. After breakfast enjoy the pleasant walks with some steep climbs. The trek continues reaching a small Hindu shrine of
Lord Shiva is close to a small glacial lake. This area is called Nanchang or Pancha
Kunda, a pilgrimage site for the Hindu followers.
Day 07: Hike to Annapurna North Base Camp 4,190 m /13,747 feet.
Walk back to Nanchang near Sun-Khola.
From this holy site a short hike, with a climb over rocky moraine of ice with
snow sometimes. The walk follows on the vague path to reach Annapurna North
Base Camp at 4,190 m (1, 3747 feet). The camp is set by our advance camping
crews, enjoy the refreshing lunch with the scenic backdrops of stunning views.
Rest of the day at leisure and enjoy the mountain scenery of North Nilgiri’s
(7,061 m) and Nilgiri’s Central (6,940 m). Includes Nilgiri’s South (6,839 m), Tilicho Peak (7,134 m), Annapurna Fang or Vara Shikar Chuli (7,647 m). As well as the peaks of Khangsar Kang also called Roc Noir (7,485 m), and the Annapurna-I (8,091 m). After achieving our main goal and highlight, walk back to Nanchang for
Overnight halt.
Day 08: Trek to Hum Khola -06 hrs. Overnight in a tented camp.
Return journey on the same scenic route, with more descend with some few
steep ups. Reaching back into green forest of pines and rhododendrons tall tree
lines, and then ending the long day trek at Hum-Khola. For last overnight in
tented camp and around the remote corners of Nepal Midwest Himalayas.
Day 09: Drive to Pokhara 860 m via Tatopani -06 hrs.
After the last breakfast served by our camping cook and staff, then board in a jeep or similar. Enjoy the exciting drive downhill to Tatopani for possible lunch stops. Afternoon drive continues to Beni or Baglung town and then a pleasant ride to Pokhara. At Pokhara reaching by late afternoon or evening, right in time before dinner in the comfort of a nice hotel.
Day 10: Fly to Kathmandu for a 30 mins flight and transfer to a hotel.
Morning after breakfast at the hotel, as time for flight to Kathmandu, transfer to
Pokhara domestic airport. After checking in and then get on board in a moderate
size airplane for sweeping panoramic flight to Kathmandu.
On arrival at the Kathmandu airport, a short drive to the hotels, rest of the
afternoon at leisure.
Day 11: International departure for homeward bound.
Last day in Kathmandu and Nepal as per your international flight time, our staff and guide will transfer you to the airport for homeward bound.
