Best seasons for Gokyo Lake Trekking:
The best time for this beautiful trek is in spring and autumn seasons, from March to May, and autumn/fall begins from September to November months.
Springtime from March to May will be much lively with wild-flowers in seasonal bloom, especially the magnolia and rhododendrons the national flower of Nepal.
March to May fine clear day most of the time, with longer sun-light hours but can get overcast in the late afternoon with chances of snow sometimes on high altitude areas as well on passes. Autumn / Falls another best time for this trek with a fine clear day for views and walks. But days are short with sun-light hours can be freezing cold higher altitude, especially in the morning, and night times will be clear with bright starry nights. Chances of snow on tracks above 3,000 m higher, as well on passes.
Religion and Culture:
The high Khumbu area of Everest region highly populated by Sherpa people the mountain tribes of Nepal and the highlanders of Eastern Himalayas. The Sherpa follows strong Buddhism religion and age-old culture similar to Tibetan, on this trek you will notice traditionally built houses, where every home is adorned with Buddhist prayer flags and monuments.

Overview
Gokyo Lake Trekking, one of the most fabulous adventures where a walk leads you to picturesque high country at Gokyo valley. A magnificent location enclosed by snow-clad peaks that reflects on its emerald lakes makes the whole surrounding beautiful and attractive.
Gokyo Lake, situated north of high Khumbu valley around Everest region away from the main busy trail of Everest base camp. In the early days till present a grazing pasture land for Yaks and other domesticated cattle. As the area gained more attraction over the years, settlements with nice simple lodges began to flourish for the trekkers.
The beauty and charm of the adventure, walking on a serene trail from green woods of tall rhododendron and pine trees. As the walk progress entering a wide-open country, facing mind-blowing views of giant mountains all the way to Gokyo Lake. The trail follows uphill coming across the first, second, and third main lakes of Gokyo. Where all good lodges are located above the lake with excellent views of Mt. Cho-Oyu world’s 6th highest peak.
Next early morning few hours climb to Gokyo-Ri, the highest spot of the adventure at 5,357 m / 17, 576 feet. The hard effort of morning climb rewards with a breathtaking panorama of the world’s four highest peaks. From Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Cho-Oyu to Mt. Makalu in the east direction with an array of famous well-known peaks.
Gokyo Lake Trekking extends towards a return journey on completing the highlights, heading downhill back to trees and green vegetation.
Walk follows to Phortse village, situated above Dudh Kosi River and from the main path of Gokyo and Namche Bazaar. The journey continues on a quiet trail facing views of majestic Ama Dablam with adjoining peaks, the high route leads to Pangboche.
A nice Sherpa village on route to Everest Base Camp and Namche Bazaar via Tengboche Monastery. Return journey from Gokyo Lake and Pangboche leads down and up into the lovely forest to Tengboche and its impressive monastery.
Tengboche, one of the highlights of this trip a beautiful spot surrounded by an array of peaks with a view of Everest. A close sight of Ama Dablam, Kantega, and Tharmasarku peaks, besides marvelous scenery Tengboche is famous for its majestic monastery. Without a visit to the monastery interior, our adventure will be unfilled, the tour takes you to the main prayer hall. Adorned with masterpiece arts of vivid paintings, includes tall statues of Lord Buddha, famous Saints, and Gurus of Tibetan Buddhism.
After an impressive tour of the monastery, return journey to Lukla where the route leads down to a river. The journey continues with few short ups to famous
Namche Bazaar the hub of Khumbu Sherpa and trekkers. An interesting place where we had a wonderful time with an extra day for acclimatization on route to Gokyo Lake. From Namche downhill to Dudh Kosi River and then on a nice pleasant trail to Lukla for the last overnight stop. The next morning short scenic flight brings you to Kathmandu, after a marvelous adventure and great experience on Gokyo Lake Trekking.

Day 05: At Namche for acclimatization and a short scenic hike.
Day 06: Trek to Dole 4,100 m – 06 hrs.

Day 08: Trek to Gokyo Lake 4,800 m – 04 hrs.
Day 09: At Gokyo free day, hike to Gokyo-Ri at 5,357 m high.
