Best seasons for Ganesh Himal & Ruby Valley Trek:
The best time for this beautiful trek is the mid-spring and autumn seasons, spring from March to May, and autumn/fall begins from September to November months.
Springtime from March to May will be much lively with wild flowers in seasonal bloom, especially the magnolia and rhododendrons the national flower of Nepal.
March to May fine clear day most of the time, with longer sun-light hours but can get overcast in the late afternoon with chances of snow sometimes on high altitude areas as well on passes. Autumn / Falls another best time for this trek with a fine clear day for views and walks. But days are short with sun-light hours temperatures can drop to freezing cold around the higher region, especially in the morning, and night times will be clear with bright starry nights. Chances of snow on tracks above 3,000 m higher, as well on passes.
Religion and Culture:
Around Rasuwa and Ganesh Himal Trekking region populated by Tamang people the Hill tribes of Nepal. Tamang follows strong Buddhism religion and age-old culture similar to Tibetan, on this trek you will notice traditionally built houses, where every home is adorned with Buddhist prayer flags and monuments.
As you encounter prayer walls and Stupa, where walking clockwise will be the right way to respect the local culture.

Ganesh Himal Base Camp & Ruby Valley Trekking, located in North Mid-West Himalaya in between the massive Manaslu and Langtang Himal range.
The adventure takes you from green vegetation, dense forest to remorseless fields of ice and snow at Ganesh Himal base camp.
This trek is more of an exploration than other normal popular routes, remains pristine due to less flow of visitors. Ganesh Himal massive peaks can be seen from Kathmandu valley on the clear fine day towards North-West.
Ganesh Himal- I, the main peak stands at 7, 422 m high, few interested mountaineers seldom visit for the climb. The name Ganesh of a Hindu mythological God with a head of an elephant. The south face of Ganesh
Himal- IV also known as Pabil peak, slightly resembles the trunk of an elephant.
Hence it is called Ganesh after a Hindu deity, the local name is Yangra a Tibetan origin language. It means a place of a heavenly paradise, certainly a marvelous country to enjoy within its tranquil environment.
The trek includes beautiful Ruby valley, in early day precious stone Ruby was found in abundance. It still exists in rocks and mountains but is scarce and hard to find unless if you are very lucky.
Ganesh Himal Base Camp & Ruby Valley Trekking starts with an exciting overland journey from the capital Kathmandu heading North-West. As drive ends around the district of Rasuwa within Langtang and Ganesh Himal range, the starting point of the trek. The walk begins past rural farm villages inhabited mostly by the indigenous Tamang mountain tribes of Central Himalayas.
On leaving the last lovely villages of Gatlang and Somdang, then heading into complete wilderness. Walk into a dense forest of rhododendron, magnolia, pines, and oak trees coming across small temporary shelters of a local cattle herder.
As the walk progress heading higher terrain, slowly tree lines and green vegetation disappear for arid and barren landscapes. Then reaching our first destination at massif Ganesh Himal base camp at 4, 600 m / 15,092 feet. The highest spot of the journey is hidden behind an array of giant peaks of the Ganesh Himal range.
After an enjoyable time at Ganesh Himal base camp, then head towards our next destination and highlight the Ruby Valley. Trek leads back into lush vegetation and tall tree lines than at the base of Sing-La pass.
Early morning a steep climb to Sing-La pass at 4, 045 m offers a spectacular panorama of the Central Himalayan Mountain range. Overlooking views of staggering Ganesh Himal, Langtang, and Jugal Himal with Manaslu as far towards Annapurna Himalaya in the west.
Finally, adventure enters within a scenic and picturesque Ruby valley with a wide green field surrounded by lovely forest and green hills. Slowly our journey comes to a near end, as walk heads back to villages with neatly cultivated farm fields.
An interesting walk from high remote corners of the Himalayas to enter back into civilization around lovely farm villages and towns. As the walk continues reaching Dhading Besi a large town and headquarters of Dhading district for the last overnight stop. The next morning an exciting drive reaches you back to Kathmandu, where our wonderful journey completes.

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu 1,345 m and transfer to respective Hotels
Day 02: Kathmandu with sightseeing tour, trek briefing and preparations.
Day 03: Drive to Syabrubesi 1,460 m – 07 hours.
Day 04: Trek to Gatlang 2,438 m -05 hrs.
Day 05: Trek to Somdang 3,270 m – 06 hrs.
Day 06: Trek to Ganesh Himal Base Camp at 4,600 m – 06 hrs.
Day 07: At Base Camp rest and acclimatization.
Day 08: Trek towards to the base of Sing-la Pass 3, 140 m – 06 hrs.
Day 09: Cross Sing-La pass 4,045 m and camp at the bottom 3, 240 m – 05 hrs.
Day 10: Spare day as contingency in case of bad weather and trail condition.
Day 11: Trek to Shertung 1,920 m or Chalis-Gaon 1,674 m – 06 hrs.
Day 12: Trek to Nebar 2,020 m via Tatopani (hot-spring) – 05 hrs.
Day 13: Trek to Lapa-Gaon 1,850 m via Timaldanda and Lapchet – 05 hrs.
Day 14: Trek to Ri-Gaon 1,550 m via Bramachet Danda (ridge) – 06 hrs.
Day 15: Trek to Phulkharka 1,210 m – 06 hrs.
Day 16: Cross Jyamrung-Danda camp at Chap Bhanjyang 1,550 m – 06 hrs.
Day 17: Trek to Dhading Besi 950 m via Gola and Murli Bhanjyang – 05 hrs.
Day 18: Drive back to Kathmandu 1,310 m – 05 hrs.
Day 19: Free day in Kathmandu for tour or enjoy individual activities.
Day 20: International departure homeward bound.
